Cars, whole houses and even severed feet in shoes: The vast field of debris from Japan earthquake and tsunami that's floating towards U.S. West Coast

A vast field of debris, swept out to sea following the Japan earthquake and tsunami, is floating towards the U.S. West Coast, it has emerged.
More than 200,000 buildings were washed out by the enormous waves that followed the 9.0 quake on March 11.
There have been reports of cars, tractor-trailers, capsized ships and even whole houses bobbing around in open water.

Adrift: A whole house bobs in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Japan. An enormous field of debris was swept out to sea following the earthquake and tsunami
But even more grisly are the predictions of U.S. oceanographer Curtis Ebbesmeyer, who is expecting human feet, still in their shoes, to wash up on the West Coast within three years.
'I'm expecting parts of houses, whole boats and feet in sneakers to wash up,' Mr Ebbesmeyer, a Seattle oceanographer who has spent decades tracking flotsam, told MailOnline.
Several thousand bodies were washed out to sea following the disaster and while most of the limbs will come apart and break down in the water, feet encased in shoes will float, Mr Ebbesmeyer said.
'I'm expecting the unexpected,' he added.

Japan Earthquake 2011 Road Construction Competed in 6 Days

from ChaoticFate.com by qew

Dear Highway Department,
from First Thoughts

I’ve lived in Japan three different times and have developed a great admiration for the people of that country. They are innovative, energetic, and enterprising workers. But I’ve never considered them to be all that different from Americans. I certainly never would have considered them to be superhumanly productive.
So how do you explain the picture below?

On March 11 the biggest earthquake in the country’s history shook Japan. Six days later construction workers and engineers arrived at the Great Kanto Highway in Naka, which had a 150 meter crater-like crack. By March 23 the road was completely fixed.
My question for you, Highway Department, is why are the Japanese able to fix a 150-meter crack in six days while you can’t fix a 15 inch pothole in six months?

Millions of Spiders in Pakistan Encase Entire Trees in Webs

from ChaoticFate.com by qew

By Duncan Geere, Wired UK
The unprecedented flooding in Pakistan in the latter half of 2010 disrupted the lives of 20 million people, but it also affected the country’s arachnid population.
With more than a fifth of the country submerged, millions of spiders climbed into trees to escape the rising floodwaters. The water took so long to recede, the trees became covered in a cocoon ofspiderwebs. The result is an eerie, alien panorama, with any vegetation covered in a thick mass of webbing. (You can see images from the region in the gallery linked below.)
However, the unusual phenomenon may be a blessing in disguise. Britain’s department for international development reports that areas where the spiders have scaled the trees have seen far fewer malaria-spreading mosquitos than might be expected, given the prevalence of stagnant, standing water.
The agency is providing aid to the communities affected by the disaster, including safe drinking water, health care, food and shelter. To reduce the population’s long-term dependence on that aid, the government agency is now offering wheat seeds and tools to farmers, and jobs and skills training for those in rural areas. However, reconstruction in the worst-hit areas is expected to take many years.

Video Of Tsunami Smashing Into Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant; Reactor 1 Radiation Counter "Breaks" After Reporting 100 Sieverts/Hour

from ChaoticFate.com by qew

Better late then never. Almost a full month after the March 11 earthquake generated a tsunami strong enough to cripple the Fukushima nuclear power plant, TEPCO has finally released a video of the 45 foot waves coming to land and resulting in the biggest nuclear catastrophe since Chernobyl. As CNN explainswhat is patently obvious, the video shows the giant wave generated by the historic March 11 earthquake crashing over the plant's seawall and engulfing the facility, with one sheet of spray rising higher than the buildings that house the plant's six reactors. Tokyo Electric Power, the plant's owner, told reporters the wall of water was likely 14 to 15 meters (45 to 48 feet) higher than normal sea levels -- easily overwhelming the plant's 5-meter seawall.

In a System Based On Lies Why Would You Believe the Numbers?

If you want a clear picture of how the US works today, all you need to do is look at the latest budget “showdown.”

We have Congress debating over $30+ billion in spending at a time when the Federal Reserve is printing $100 billion per month or so to buy US debt.

Let’s think about this for a minute. We have a debt problem. And according to our elected leaders, the way to address that debt problem is to fight over some $30 billion in spending at the exact same time that unelected leaders (the Fed) are printing three times that amount (at least that we know of) to buy MORE US debt.

It’s bizarre, but it reveals the real power structure in the US’s “democracy.” To anyone who focuses on the numbers, not the noise, it’s obvious that Congress is just a grand distraction from the folks who really decide things AKA the Fed/ Banks.

How else can you explain that EVERYTHING the Fed says to us (and Congress) is an outright lie and yet no one does anything about it?

Inflation’s contained?

Not so much.

Japan to pump radioactive water into sea until Sunday

Japan will pump radioactive water into the sea from a crippled nuclear plant until Sunday, a day later than previously planned, its nuclear safety agency said.
The announcement came a day after China expressed concern at the discharge of contaminated water from the Fukushima Daiichi plant smashed by last month’s earthquake, reflecting growing international unease over the month-long nuclear crisis.
“We are working on releasing water … we are likely to finish this tomorrow,” Hidehiko Nishiyama, a deputy director- general at Japan’s Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency, told reporters today.
Plant operator Tokyo Electric Power Co (TEPCO) said earlier it expected to stop pumping tainted water into the sea on Saturday, but work was interrupted by a powerful aftershock on Thursday.

Julian Assange claims WikiLeaks is more accountable than governments

WikiLeaks is more accountable than democratically elected governments because it accepts donations from members of the public, Julian Assange has claimed, in his first formal public appearance since being arrested in December following accusations of rape and sexual assault.
Questioned at a public debate about the whistleblowing organisation's own transparency, Assange told an audience of 700 people, many of them supporters: "We are directly supported on a week-to-week basis by you. You vote with your wallets every week if you believe that our work is worthwhile or not. If you believe we have erred, you do not support us. If you believe we need to be protected in our work, you keep us strong.
"That dynamic feedback, I say, is more responsive than a government that is elected after sourcing money from big business every four years."
