National Vote Mob!: May 1, 2011
Hello Canada!
In the midst of this, our 41st election, a very unique time has come. The time has come to challenge apathy, to unfurl the best of our collective imagination, to do our part in restoring civility to our politics, to come together as one.
As the remarkable vote mobs that the youth in our midst have commenced take hold, it is time for all Canadians, young, old and in-between, to stand shoulder-to-shoulder from coast to coast, in a series of same-time vote mobs that might well be the largest to date in history.
If citizens, rather than the political class, rather than opinion drivers, rather than talking heads, are to return to the center of national decision making, if we in this generation are to live up to that phrase at the bedrock of our constitutional existence – good government, - then we cannot afford to be bystanders. The decisions of the next few years, over nuclear energy, health care, immigration, economic management, deficit spending, agriculture, education, foreign relations, social programs, emergency preparedness, sovereignty, and many more, are at stake.
So, on May 1, at 1:30pm in Newfoundland, 1pm Atlantic, 12noon Eastern, 11am Central, 10am Mountain, 9am Pacific, let us come together, in locations as indicated below and in others as YOU desire, across this great land. Click on your location to indicate you'll be there, and to connect with other attendees, via facebook! First, the largest vote mob, then the largest voter turnout in many an election!
